Beyond Clothing: A Passion for Product Design
What started as a search for better-designed goods for ourselves evolved into a mission to create them for others. Ñom Studio emerged as a laboratory of sorts—a place where we could experiment across categories without limitation, challenging ourselves to rethink objects that had become ordinary through familiarity.
We refused to be confined by industry conventions that suggested a studio should master one category. Instead, we embraced the freedom to move between clothing, tools, home goods, and even pet toys—finding that each new challenge informed our approach to the next.
The Birth of Ñom
Ñom Studio started during my university days when friends kept asking where they could get the small-batch shirts I was designing. I began making larger batches and selling at local markets. When I left Mexico for the first time, I wanted to keep this creative outlet alive as a side project.
The idea was simple: create designs I love, and if others want them too—perfect. That was more than 10 years ago, and the journey continues.
"I basically start working on something and do a thousand different versions until something I like comes out. This is where not having a professional design background comes in—I do things on trial and error until I like the outcome."
The Studio Challenge
Today, Ñom Studio continues as both a maker of thoughtfully designed products and a consultancy that helps others achieve that same balance of beauty and purpose. Each project, whether a physical product or a design service, reflects our ongoing commitment to elevating the everyday through mindful design.
Looking Ahead
We remain, at heart, design explorers—still driven by that original search for better-made goods, still finding joy in the constant pursuit of objects that deserve to exist in the world.
